Carrol Lynch Ward was born January 15, 1936 at Fifty-Six, Arkansas to Carl and Cuba Ward. He graduated from Mountain View High School and Arkansas Tech University. He coached basketball at Timbo High School. Mr. Ward was married and raised five children. He was employed by the Arkansas State Police and retired as a corporal after a 24 year career. He was then elected sheriff, serving from 1989 to 1992. He enjoyed his family and hunting. He served on the Clinton Parks and Recreation Committee many years. Mr. Ward was also on Governor Beebe’s Criminal Detention Facilities Review Committee. He died December 9, 2010.
